We request that all live items whether it be fish plants or invertebrates, be placed in a proper aquatic fish transport bag like you would get from a local pet store. If re-using a bag from a store we request that it has no printing or previous marking on it as to not confuse the auctioneer. Buckets with lids may be used with larger animals.
For best results a good rule of thumb is to have 1/3 water to 2/3 air in the bag as this provides the best transport for most fish. If bagging fish such as plecostomus double bagging may be necessary to avoid puncture.
Please ensure all bags have been properly labelled with seller number first then item number as well as description of item. Please right clearly with a permanent marker or waterproof label.
The club sells bags for members to purchase. 10 for $2.00 for small and 10 for $2.50 for larger depending what’s available at the time. To get bags contact Trish Frück at the link below or ask one of the executive team members at the general meeting.
The use of ziploc sandwich baggies are not permitted as they are thin and prone to leaking and are easy to puncture and do not provide enough room for fish or plants.
We do not allow used electrical aquarium equipment for the reason that it can’t be guaranteed to work or last.
We suggest you don’t bring more than 3 of the same so that you may get top dollar for your item. When there is a mass quantity of one type of item, buyers are less likely to bid high or even at all on these items.
Try to place a decent quantity of product in your bag as putting too little may result in a no sale. Depending on rarity of item smaller quantities may suffice but majority of items do sell better in bigger quantities.
We allow minimum bid prices to be put on items but try not to price your item to high as it may deter fellow hobbyists from bidding on your items. Remember these are hobbyists selling to hobbyists please do not expect to get retail/store pricing for your item.
Monthly auction forms are available at each monthly meeting by the attendance log when walking in. If you wish to be prepared ahead of time you may click the link below to download and print your own copy from home and have it already filled out prior to the meeting.
Not sure what your seller number is? Your seller number is your membership number given to you when you signed up. It is located on your name tag as well as your membership card.
Ex. #1 - 3 X Female Guppies
These boxes are for donating your item to the club and the B.A.P. Is a donation to the club so that you may receive your breeders award.
If you wish for your item to have a minimum starting bid list a price for it in that column. Make sure you don’t make your price too high or your item may not sell.
The yellow shaded areas are for TREASURER’S USE ONLY DO NOT WRITE IN THESE AREAS!.
Give your form to the treasurer, no later than the refreshment break at the general meeting just before the auction.
At the end of the auction, the treasurer will tally up how much is owed to you and how much is owed to the club for your items. You get 70% and the club gets 30%
Forms are available at the club meeting, on the day of the auction or here on the website.
Be sure to clearly fill in your name address and phone number so that we may get in contact with you if any issues arise.
Unlike our monthly mini auctions your seller number for this form is NOT your membership number. Leave this area (Yellow) blank until you have been given your seller number for that auction from one of our executive team or auction coordinator.
Please fill in all items that you wish to sell nice and neatly so there is no confusion and be sure to label your bags corresponding to how you wrote them on your sheet. Ex Seller Number Then Table Letter 61-A. Labels are provided by the club. Also be sure to write a description of what’s in your bag neatly on the bag with a sharpie.
Once all forms are filled out and bags labeled, place each bag on its corresponding table. Ex 61-A would be placed on table A ….etc
Once all items have been placed on the corresponding table hand your form to the treasurer.
Feel free to sit and watch your items sell or grab a refreshment and do some bidding yourself.
At the end of the auction, the treasurer will tally up how much is owed to you and how much is owed to the club for your items. You get 70% and the club gets 30%
